About the event
Threads of Belonging is a monthly circle for women who wish to connect - to each other, to their own creative impulses, and to the art that longs to move through them. This is a space to nurture yourself and your creativity. It is about creating a loving, supportive environment in which your creative life can thrive more often, and with greater confidence.
Together we gather in sacred trust, holding space for one another with gentleness, respect, and patience. Every voice, every idea, every spark of possibility is honoured. Here, principles stand above personalities. Envy, criticism, and competition are left at the door, replaced with encouragement, listening, and believing in one another’s creativity. This is a circle of “believing mirrors” - women reflecting faith in each other’s visions, midwifing the dreams that wish to emerge.
Women have gathered in circles for millennia. These gatherings have created space for intergenerational women to share their fears, dreams, their innermost thoughts.
I am passionate about holding and supporting you exactly where you are. I take my time. I create opportunities to move slowly. To speak with truth. To tap into your creative muse and listen.
A little of what you may expect is listed below:
meditation
ritual
crafting
journalling
singing or sounding
storytelling
drum journeying
opportunities for talking from the heartspace
My circles invite you to take time away from the busyness of life for connection and sisterhood. To experience a sense of belonging and of kinship which, in turn, facilitates healing, growth, and deeper connection with yourself and your creative terrain.
How often do we push ourselves to our absolute limits and then crash and burn only to find that it's only us that can get ourselves back up from the ground. These circles were created with the absolute opposite in mind. The sacred and safer space created in my gatherings gives you permission to pause, to breathe deeply and to nourish your innermost self in a room of women who have experienced similar things to you, similar pressures, similar fears and similar joys.
A circle provides space to honour the whole of our experience; gently aiding the ebb and flow of our emotional landscape and making way for our grief, joy, sadness, guilt, hope to be expressed. Each circle nurtures inner enquiry and offers a time for self-reflection and rest, encouraging a practice of no judgement.
Practical Details
The circle meets once a month at the art studio.
Our first gathering is on Saturday 18th October, 6:30–9pm.
Bring something cosy to help you feel comfortable, think cosy night in by the fire vibes.
You may wish to bring an offering for the central altar - something seasonal or an object you’d like to charge with the energy of the space.
A journal and pen or a sketchbook/medium of choice are recommended to support your creative reflection.
Come as you are. Step into a space of connection, nurture, and shared trust, and let the threads of belonging weave through you, carrying your creativity into life.
A little about your facilitator:
Merryn Tenalach is a community tender, guardian of sacred landscapes, writer, and therapist, dedicated to holding space for transformation, creativity, and connection. She has spent years supporting women to reconnect with their own creative impulses and life stories supporting people specifically, to release emotions to align themselves to their highest purpose.
Merryn believes that creativity thrives not in isolation but in the company of those who see and honour it. She brings a rare combination of gentle insight, practical guidance, and reverence for the sacred, creating a circle in which participants feel safe, seen, and inspired. Her experience as a weaver and facilitator of women’s gatherings gives her a unique gift for nurturing both the individual and collective creative life.
Threads of Belonging is held by Merryn because she understands that the most potent creativity emerges when it is supported, mirrored, and celebrated - and she is dedicated to creating that space for others.
